The printed insert — your full colour graphic, printed and positioned between the protective layers.

The interlay — a 275-micron intermediate PVC layer that adds rigidity and helps bond the structure together during the welding process.The reinforcing board — a 2mm board at the core gives the mat its firm, flat feel. This is what stops it from curling, buckling, or lifting at the edges over time.

The expanded PVC base — the bottom layer anchors the mat to the counter surface, providing grip and protecting the surface beneath.

All of these layers are placed into the high frequency welding press, where electromagnetic energy heats the PVC from the inside out, fusing every layer into a single sealed unit — edges included. The result is a mat with clean, sharp borders and a completely weatherproof interior that will outlast years of counter use.
